Chris Tuckett, based in the village of Belaugh beyond Wroxham Bridge, specialises in traditional and performance yachts, with particular expertise in rigging and the long-term care and maintenance of classic sailing boats. Over the years, he has developed an extensive understanding of his craft, shaped by competitive experience in dinghy racing at both national and world championship levels, as well as yacht racing on the Norfolk Broads. He brings real-world knowledge into every build and improvement of the vessels he works on.
For the past decade, Chris has run a traditional boatyard, maintaining and rigging a wide range of vessels—from 118-year-old race winners to modern carbon fibre yachts. His work combines traditional craftsmanship with modern materials and techniques to ensure each boat receives the expert care it deserves.
At the core of the Tuckett ethos is the importance of long-standing relationships with boat owners and their vessels, often spanning generations within the same family. Many of the boats Chris works on belong to returning customers, allowing him to develop a close familiarity with each vessel and its owner. This ensures consistent care, long-term planning, and maintenance that respects performance expectations, timeframes, and budgets. It’s a relationship-driven approach that puts trust, reliability, and stewardship at the centre of Tuckett’s work.
